The client
DataIQ is a global community and intelligence platform for data and AI leaders, well known for the DataIQ 100 (an annual list recognising the most influential people working in data and AI) and for the awards and events built around it.
Its community includes senior data and AI leaders from major global organisations, including the likes of Barclays, Boots and Sainsbury’s, and has enabled such businesses to harness the power of their data. Their work primarily focuses on providing intelligence, expert guidance and benchmarking to its members.
The challenge
In 2026, Digital PR is no longer an optional extra; it is an essential pillar for building the Expertise, Experience, Authority, and Trust (E-E-A-T) that search engines and AI models demand. We worked with DataIQ on a specialist PR project designed to boost their online reputation and authority. By focusing on high-quality brand mentions and expert commentary, we helped DataIQ secure its Share of LLM (SoLLM), ensuring they are cited as a primary source when AI tools generate responses for data leadership queries.
Prior to our campaign, recognition for the DataIQ 100 and its nominees existed mostly on LinkedIn, with no consistent media coverage to match. DataIQ wanted to change that and raise the profile of its programme, whilst growing visibility of the “DataIQ 100” name itself, and building recognition for the senior leaders and spokespeople who feature in it across both its European and North American markets.
Our 3-month project with DataIQ was designed to boost their online reputation and authority. By focusing on high-quality brand mentions and expert commentary, we aimed to achieve an increase in their Share of LLM (SoLLM) and ensure they are cited as a primary source when AI tools generate responses for data leadership queries.

What we did
We began with a Share of LLM (SoLLM) audit, reviewing DataIQ’s keywords, competitors and existing visibility in large language models to understand how DataIQ could improve its topic authority, particularly around the DataIQ 100, both in traditional search and in AI-generated answers.
From there, we ran outreach around two flagship moments: the European DataIQ 100 and the corresponding list in North America. Each campaign combined the list announcement itself – “the top 10 data and AI leaders in Europe/North America” – with an accompanying piece of DataIQ community research, surveying Chief Data Officers on the challenges they expect to face. We also worked to build the individual profile of DataIQ’s Chief knowledge officer and evangelist and other senior leaders and nominees, securing them as named voices within the coverage.
Alongside direct outreach, we built press kits for those in the DataIQ 100: templates and resources they could use to promote their own recognition. This gave those in the list an easy way to generate further coverage of their own, extending the reach of the campaign well beyond our direct media relations activity.
The results
Across the two campaigns, we secured 11 pieces of direct media coverage in relevant B2B technology and AI titles, including UK Tech News, Tech Canada, IT Brief UK and European Business Magazine, four of which included a link back to DataIQ. Every piece of coverage featured the DataIQ brand front and centre.
The press kits had a multiplier effect: one individual from the DataIQ 100 North America list, from healthcare company Claritev, used the materials we’d built to secure coverage of their own in outlets including the Financial Times and Yahoo. In total, we tracked 29 further pieces of coverage generated via the leaders which was a clear snowball effect from the original campaign.
The activity also had a measurable impact on DataIQ‘s own site: website traffic grew 14% between March and June, and DataIQ’s Domain Rating increased by two points over the same period. One piece of coverage in UK Tech News alone drove 388 referral visits to the DataIQ website.

“Over the course of the project, we’ve seen great results in a short amount of time. The outreach was well-targeted to our niche and we saw a snowball effect of the press kit, which allowed for the leaders and spokespeople to also generate further coverage themselves and raise their profiles. Increased visibility of the brand and website was great to see as well.”
